What are the advantages and disadvantages of a garden?

Jene Licausi: weeding

Sol Allphin: Depending on the type of garden then maintenance could be a disadvantage, but when you look at the alternative of having a yard full of weeds which you'll have to cut and look at all the time I don't' think the maintenance is that bad.

Merlin Fleischhacker: if you love it there is none....most of the time. watering would prolly be the worse you can get weed barriers to keep weeds out. organic fertilizers stay in your soil longer so that can be better than feeding every week. oh and they have timers for watering ur plants. that's useful ...

Salvatore Walls: The only disadvantage is the work of maintaining it.

Gaston Edgcomb: The worst is having to DEAL with it- keeping it up, weeding.... Especially if you have no time! I wanted desperately to have a garden in my front yard but I didn't have the time of day and I didn't really have much patience to keep it up. A friend told me about Rubber Mulch- It's really cool- I! just put it down once and I know my garden looks gorgeous and I don't gotta do anything!!

Mitzie Clough: I love having a garden that I can go out and pick fresh produce from. The disadvantage is trying to work at a job and then coming home and trying to find the energy and time to care for the garden and the produce. But on the other hand, if you are stressed from other things there is nothing better than spending time outside working in that garden.
