Derrick Smsith: 2005 Volkswagen
Lauri Ohl: There are no "cons" for a Jetta [that I know of], which in Europe is called "Golf". I have owned three. My current one is from 2000 and still running like a dream.
Kelly Bistodeau: Well, the Volkswagen is well made, specially for the US. For a woman I would say that it is a good choice, because it is not to big, ( driving in the town, finding parking place), but not to small, I mean that there is space for your friends also or your stuff if you are travelling. Generally the engine works well, depends also what type of engine, diesel or petrol, ( 2.0; 2.5.... turbo, TDI, FSI) there are several type of engines, I think that the best is a 2.0 TDI or 2.5 TDI, so I suggest a diesel engine, it does not consume a lot, works well, it has power!About the materials used in the car, interior, well I suppose leather, fine leather, which makes the car tuff, but also a gentleman...Contra, Jetta has a new model since 2007, so t! his old model, which was designed in 1999, is a little bit old fashioned, at with time it will loose from it's price a lot, so after a time, if you wanna sell, you will get less than you have payed for it!...Show more
Alise Rutgers: Pros:-safe car and solid feeling-very rust resistantcons:-expensive services-electrical issues (switches, harness, coils)If the money is tight - look into 06+ Civic or Corolla cheaper in the long run, but lacks the visual appeal....Show more
Bennie Lantgen: It has good mileage, thats all I know.
Shena Etulain: volkswagons are good cars
Craig Virani: I bought my wife a 2005 Jetta with the 2.5 engine. The Jetta has proven to be super-reliable. We use it as a daily commute car . But where the Jetta really shines is when its vacation time! With the roof rack ,we load up our bikes and kayaks and head for the mountains or the beach. And there is plenty of room to take a friend or two....We get abt. 32 MPG and have plenty of pow! er . The Jetta features disc brakes front and rear, something ! competitors dont offer. The suspension [indeed the entire car] was designed in Germany for the Autobahn (they still have unlimited speeds there). It must pass rigorous safety standards. We have driven the Silver Jetta for 75,000 reliable miles. It has never let us down. The only "Con" we can think of is that we wish it only had 30k on it !!We think the Jetta would make a fantastic car for you....Show more
Cornelius Thornborrow: buy it it only has 30k miles on it it would b a gr8 first car
Gilberto Cratin: great for your first car, drives nice reliable, nice power, lasts long, and if you maintain it volkswagens drive forever
