I would like to stir up some business for my car repair garage, any pointers?

Darnell Cutliff: Craigslist.org...you can run free ads but you have to keep reposting every few days. Word of mouth through networking...friends, family, neighbors, churches, schools, hospitals, supermarkets, parts stores, auto paint supply stores, etc...Advetise on main roads. Run small ads in community newspapers. Get listed on Car-Talk.com, or Angieslist. Offer free car advice on local radio shows to plug your business or offer free car clinics on Saturdays.

Lenard Ginyard: Find out what your competitors offer. Is there something you offer they don't? When a customer will spend a large amount on repairs, maybe give those customers a quik detail.Wipe the dash, clean windows, vac, hand wash & shamy. Trust me that'll get people talking & word of mouth will be your best advertisement! Same with body work, especially if its a dusty job. Customers you have now, offer them a "Routine Maintenace " program where they can bring in a car say every couple weeks or bi-monthly! at a discount rate. Your not losing but gaining with repeat flow, where before they came only when they needed something. Tell them about your refer a friend program, hand them a special type (say business card) you made on the computer, where if they refer freinds/relatives by passing along the card they will get 10 or 20% off their next appointment. When people call, ask who refered them or how they heard of you. This helps you figure your best advertising aproach. Cheap advertising, make flyer's on your computer, ask to hang them in every store, oil change place, food joint, free bulletin boards at the post office ect.within a 20 mile radius. People will drive to get good work. Word of advice: when you pickup business do not get lazy & think you got it made. Word of mouth on shawdy work will get around sevenfold, & will close your doors! Honesty is the best policy!! Good luck to you, please post down the road to let us know how your doing!...Show more

Rhett Kaines:! I use word of mouth from my customers to their friends. Sever! al refer their family and friends to me. I found a car inspection place that the owner does not like to work on electrical problems and he refers any whom have electrical problems to me, with his shop I only want the work that he does not, as I told him I am not after his customers, I also send him business that I won't do my self such as ball joint replacement, so for us this arrangement works well. I also put an add in the local paper for 30 days for less than $75.00. I currently work from my home and do travel to the customer vehicle as necessary....Show more

Rosella Figliola: word of mouth is best, but i used magnet door signs on truck and cars, not really a cheap way to go, but effective.

Vernita Robberson: window fliers , newspaper add , My work has always been word of mouth. for being honest and reasonableRemember for every one dissatisfied customer he will tell 8 -10 , for every happy customer he will tell 2
