Ulysses Failey: Vegetarians do not eat animal flesh but sometimes eat eggs and dairy. Vegans do not eat any animal products or any product processed with animal products (like some wines or white sugars). Also vegans don't buy leather and try to live as cruelty free as possible. I know veganism sounds restrictive but it's get easier as you go. A good book to guide you is Veganist by Kelly Freston or Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer. Good luck :)
Renay Billiar: Hi SK8R_GIRL. I am more than happy to answer your question, but this is a frequently asked question that's a very easy google search on top of that. The basics are that A vegetarian eats no animals or anything that caused the death of an animal. A vegan uses no animal products and eats nothing that came from an animal. From there, you can get into details like honey, lanolin, farm raised eggs, rennet, etc. You also have the in between where a vegetarian might consume products like cheese and eggs! , but won't wear leather or silk.A vegetarian does not purposefully consume any kind of animal flesh or a derivative from it. This includes fish, chicken, turkey, scorpion, dolphin, mealworm, 'krab', guinea pig, iguana, etc. There are a ton of resources on the Internet for vegetarian and vegan cooking, nutrition, and hidden animal products. http://www.vegetariantimes.comhttp://www.realsimple.comhttp://www.sunset.comhttp://www.epicurious.comhttp://www.vrg.org/http://www.goveg.comhttp://www.pcrm.org/health/diets/vsk/vegetarian-st...Edit: Yes, Daisy is quick to point out that no one is perfect, other than herself who can stand in that glass house and throw stones. I've never met a vegetarian or vegan who claimed to be perfect. It's important to remember that no matter who you are or what you eat, you should try to be the best person you can be and do the best you can. Trolling in the vegetarian section fails to accomplish that basic human tenet....Show more

Dorethea Beaston: Vegetarians don't eat meat....usually. These days, there are lots of different kinds of "vegetarians" and some of them do eat some meat: strict vegetarian, ovo lacto vegetarian, vegan, freegan, seagan, beegan, flexitarian, pescetarian, polotarian.! .....Vegans claim to not use anything from an animal. No ice cream (milk), no cakes (eggs), no leather, etc. Of course, they do drive on roads that include animal products, buy books that have animal glues in the bindings and about a bazillion things like that. But they don't want to talk about that........Show more
