What guitar accessories do I need? (beginner)?

Kim Gerbino: You don't need an amp to play an acoustic-electric. It will still work fine as an acoustic. The electric part just gives you the option of plugging it into an amp or PA system if you play in public.Your guitar has an onboard tuner, so you won't need to buy a tuner. You'll want a guitar strap and some picks -- probably medium gauge ones, which most acoustic players use. And you may want to get a capo, though that's not essential. A capo clips onto the fretboard just behind a fret and changes the key of the guitar. Any microfiber cloth should work fine for wiping down the strings after playing, which makes them last longer and retain their brightness. I usually get mine at the dollar store. And if you'd like, you could get some guitar polish. I've used Gibson guitar polish for years (and a microfiber cloth from the dollar store) and it works great.I'll post some links to Musician's Friend accessories and an eBay auction for a capo that's just like an $! 18 one from a music store, but which would cost you only about $3 including shipping.http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/fretted-ins...http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/fretted-ins...http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gib...http://cgi.ebay.com/Quick-Change-Clamp-Key-Capo-4-...By the way, excellent guitar choice! I'm a huge Ibanez fan, since those guitars are built like rocks, sound amazing and are nicer than guitars costing twice as much. They've also got really thin necks and low action, which makes them much more comfortable to play than other acoustics. Good luck!...Show more
