Mozell Sponsler: well its a little difficult to give you correct advice with out actually seeing the connections that you have.. so I JUST HAVE TO GUESS. LOOK FOR Aux jacks on home theatre system .this is what you will need to use to put the sound on your system from the tv. Now; you might have to get a y adapter for your yellow-white plugs making them one plug with same type of end. Making one end of cable a two jack end and the other end a three way. got it.This plug can be found at any store wal mart zellers and so on. lets face it they put a lot of jacks on home theater boxes, and can get confusing for anyone. you might have an old stereo type jack on your home system for the Aux jack plug in.Which looks like the big plug-in on headphones, If this is the case; then run the line to your headphone jack on your tv which means you will only be able to hear sound on your home system untill you unplug this cable.. so; lets sum up to make it easy to understand. you are usin! g yellow- white and maybe red jack cable right , now ask yourself how many jacks do I have on each system??? and what type are they?? my guess is that your tv doesn't have the same jacks or not enough jacks right. but does it have the earphone jack if so you can use it to send soud out to your home system to the Aux jack. then to hear the sound all you do is use the aux button on your system.but try to hook up the regular in out audio vid jacks on the back of your tv first this way you can still hear sound from tv without home stereo. just remember when ever you buy a tv make sure you get one with the earphone jack for headphoes as it gives you an extra way to hook up a home system. no matter what kind of deal you can get on a tv with-out the headphone jack its just a piece of garbage that a manufacturer is trying to push off on you. keep this in mind if you need to get a new tv. I guess again that you need to buy a cable with a straight stereo plug in at one end and two ! speaker jacks at the other end. then adapters to fit to the tv! . it sounds harder than it is... so do not get frustraed just take your time and try the ideas ive given you. AUDIO- VIDEO JACKS OUT FROM TV INTO IN JACKS ON SYSTEM OR HEADPHONE JACK ON TV OUT TO AUX JACK IN ON SYSTEM. ......... OUT FROM TV INTO SYSTEM.................Show more
Laveta Fathy: Yes. You will need an optical cable from your tv and then connect it to your home theater. Keep in mind that not all tv program have surround sound information. Most tv programs are in stereo only and those with the dolby are in surround sound. Hope this will help you out.
