I am a special education teacher- is that a "real" teacher?

Caleb Chapman: They have it in their heads that teaching students with disabilities is a "Waste of time and money." While I'm not a teacher but I was in special ed because of a specific learning disability and I heard the horsesh*t all my life from everyone. I have to admit, if it was not for my special ed teacher I would have dropped out of school in the 11th grade because I simply got that tired of hearing the nonsense. However, I'm happy to say that because of my special ed teacher I not only did graduated high school but I did eventually graduated college earning dual degrees in Computer/ Electrical Engineering. BTW, I not only graduated college but I did so with highest honors which is something that only a handful of my "smarter" classmates can honestly say and I owe it all to my special ed teacher for not giving up on m! e during a time when everyone else did....Show more
